Hi, I am confused about how the sign up system works…I signed up when it was well below 12. Now it shows 13 and two of the sign ups have a “2” next to their name. Does this mean there are 15 players signed up for Sunday 1/28? Does the system track the time when someone signed up and the first twelve are in? Thx!
The two means that someone has re-signed up with the same name. It is only one person. And it is an honor system so the 13th person should back out.
Hi Jane - Geordie is correct some people have signed up several times so have a 2 or 3 next to their names. We are unable to set a "hard" limit so it is incumbent on people to see how many area already signed in before doing so. It is easy to see who has signed in last, but I am not interested in policing this and have dropped out myself to keep the numbers down.
Got it, thanks!
FYI I am Donna C(2) because Donna C, signed up first and is Donna Cook.
Is there no play tomorrow, Thursday the 11th? It seems to have disappeared.
There is some sort of fire safety thing I believe and we got displaced 🙁
Donna is correct the FD will be conducting fire training in the school tonight so no play.
Thanks, I hadn’t heard.
Mark - I had the Player lineup system send an email to all registered players. Maybe it went in your spam folder?? Glad you caught it and did not drive to Warren to play tonight.
Would it be possible to offer two different times on Sundays considering there is no school? (Example idea: playtimes from 2-4 and 4:30-7)
I’m assuming there be more logistics with opening the building (etc.) but I wanted to propose the idea.
Suzanne we are discussing some other options to all more people to play. I will discuss this with the school and make some decisions on best timing.
Just wanted to add that there is still one spot open for play tomorrow at 4 if you wanted to play.
Another idea is to open it to 16 and play rally play so games are quick and everyone gets plenty of games in. Just a thought!
Hello Warren Pickleball Players,
Our indoor season is well underway, and we continue to have totally full play sessions at the Warren School. As a result of the full sessions, I wanted to send out a few reminders.
• All indoor sessions are limited to 12 players. This limit is in place so waiting time to play is minimized. Our present version of Player Lineup does not have a built-in hard cutoff so please be mindful of how many people have already signed up and do not sign up if the group is already at 12.
• Because of the increased demand to play please be sure to sign out on Player Lineup if you cannot make a session you signed up for. This will allow someone else who wants to play to be able to do so. The earlier you can sign out the better. If the group is already full at 12 and you want to play, feel free to post a message to the group asking to be the next person to play should someone drop out. Also, if you are dropping out close to play time, please send a message saying a spot is opening if the group has been full to alert others of the opportunity.
• We do have to pay the school to use the gym. The cost is very reasonable. Jessica is collecting the money so that we can pay the school. We are projecting the cost to be $25 per person for the entire winter season. If you have not yet paid, please give Jessica your money when you next play.
• If you have a guest, please be sure to sign them in on Player Lineup so that we have an accurate count on the number of players. It is fun to have guests, but because we need to pay the school and purchase balls and tape for the courts, we are going to charge a guest fee of $5 going forward.
• While it will be a while before we get to play outside, I wanted to let you know that we have purchased a second rolling net and hope to have two more come springtime. These will be left set up and ready to use for anyone who wants to play on the Warren courts.
Happy new year to everyone! I look forward to seeing you for some indoor play or for the snowbirds in our group in the spring for outside play.
Gary
Gary-
Glad to see that the Warren pickleball is going strong through the winter. I plan to be back over the summer. I would like to support the group financially to help pay for the rolling nets so let me know how best to get the $25 to Jessica.
Thanks and best to all for the New Year.
David
Hi David -
No worries on making a contribution for the nets we are all set. When you return in the spring we will likely be seeking an outdoor season contribution so you can save up until then. I hope you are having good winter in the warmer weather.
Gary
Sounds like a plan. Great outdoor pickleball weather here.
If anyone that’s signed up can’t play for any reason, please sign out. I would love to play. I will keep checking throughout the day. Thanks
